Isn’t NASCAR a great sport when your driver is doing well? I think so. Right now being an Earnhardt fan is better than any time since he was with D.E.I. He’s in the Chase. He had a top five finish in the first Chase race and qualified respectable in the second.
Things are good – most of the time.
Then there are the mornings I am listening to NASCAR on satellite radio and some idiot caller has to try to ruin my day. Yesterday was one of those days. The idiot in this case expressed his moronic view that Dale Jr only finished third in Chicago because everyone else ran out of fuel. He thought the 88 deserved a 16th place finish. I guess I didn’t realize Junior had a bigger fuel tank than the other cars or better fuel mileage than the Chevy’s. I guess I was under the impression Dale Jr was under the same circumstances as everyone else on the track. What I thought I saw was a mediocre car Steve LeTarte adjusted into a fast car and Junior drove it into sixth place before the drivers, who obviously are not as skilled at saving fuel as my driver, pushed their luck and depleted their tank of Sunoco fuel.
All three of them!
That’s right the difference between where Junior was and where he finished when people started running out of gas was three spots. It wasn’t thirteen like some idiots believe. The idiot I thinking of has nothing better to do then call radio shows and show the world his brain is the size of a valve stem cap.
Of course that is his right but why does he have to do it while I am listening?
It just makes me look forward to Homestead and a Cup that much more!
